Pumps Plus was started by Steve Wilkinson in 1992. With previous experience in irrigation systems, Steve became interested in the pump aspect of the golf business and apprenticed with Commercial Pump in London. The opportunity soon arose to start his own business servicing Commercial Pump customers (approximately 50). Word of Steve being the best "pump guy" in the business got out and the demand for Steve's service soon increased. "With experience in irrigation system installations, we understand where the water is going. This is critical to troubleshooting and making the system work efficiently."

Currently, Pumps Plus services over 300 customers and services all makes of pump stations including Flowtronex, Commercial Pump, Carrol Childers, GPM, PSI, Norco, Aquateck and Plad. Combined we have worked on over 1500 pumps.

Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club

The company's belief in educating the golf course personnel on station operation and general maintenance brought about a need for pump station training. For the past twelve years, Pumps Plus has held a training seminar in conjunction with the Turf Care's Education Days. Topics include pump construction and operation, motors, controls and operation and hydraulic valves.

Pumps Plus employs a small staff of four. Sherri Wilkinson, the Office Manager brings 15 years of legal experience to the company and not only manages the accounting but schedules the service work for the Service Technicians. Al Blackburn has been with Pumps Plus for twelve years and is certified by Flowtronex for work on all components of the station, from the pump screen to the variable frequency drive components. Chris Schade, the newest addition to the Pumps Plus team in the spring of 2005, brings eight years of golf course irrigation and maintenance experience to Pumps Plus. Chris, performs some on-site welding, is also Flownet certified and is fluent in computer operations for diagnostics, data logging and Pump Log communications. Steve Wilkinson is the president of the company and performs stationary engineering, design for custom installs, millwright and electrical controls and new station installations. Steve is also Flownet certified.

Pumps Plus has three, fully equipped service vehicles to meet the needs of our customers.
